“Supramolecular-based drug carriers provide a versatile platform for spatial and temporal controlled delivery of various biomolecules in regenerative medicine”

Jiankang obtaines his PhD in medical science from Radboud University Medical Center under supervision of Prof. John A. Jansen, with his thesis entitled “Nanostructured carriers for the delivery of antibacterial agents”. During his PhD he went to the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) as a visiting researcher under the supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. After his PhD, he joined the DankersLab in October 2016 as a post-doc. Currently, his research projects focus on the controlled biomolecules delivery for heart valve regeneration. To achieve this goal, he functionalizes the ureido-pyrimidinone (UPy)-based monomers, followed by self-assembling to form supramolecular polymers as drug delivery platform for various bioactive molecules delivery.
