Maritza Rovers
Maritza received her bachelor in Medical Sciences and Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she proceeded with her master Biomedical Engineering in the group of prof. dr. dr. Patricia Dankers. For her master thesis she focussed on the development of a click-to-release reaction on a supramolecular surface for controlled drug delivery systems. To finish her master’s, Maritza conducted an internal literature review on how biomedical engineered supramolecular materials can be translated to the field of plant cell biology. Currently, Maritza is a PhD candidate in the Dankerslab, where she focuses on designing and screening cellular microenvironments for eukaryotic cells. In particular, she will investigate how supramolecular biomaterials are both applicable for human and plant tissue engineering.
