Patricia Dankers and Dan Jing Wu featured in TV program Knappe Koppen

On Wednesday 1st of April, Patricia Dankers and Dan Jing Wu were featured in the program “Knappe Koppen”, where scientific experts provide answers to everyday questions, on NPO.
In this episode the question was discussed if laboratory animals were still needed. After elaboration on the creation of organoids as disease models to partially replace the need for laboratory animals, the question was raised if we could not create or regenerate whole organs.
Patricia Dankers and Dan Jing Wu explained our research on this topic with the example of vascular grafts, where we use biomaterials that can attract stem cells and regenerate the blood vessel over time.
